National Service Scheme (NSS)

Guru Hargobind Sahib College operates one unit of the National Service Scheme (NSS) with the objective of fostering a strong spirit of social responsibility, community service, civic awareness, and nation-building among students. NSS provides students with meaningful opportunities to understand social issues, contribute to community welfare, and develop leadership, teamwork, discipline, and a sense of social commitment.

Key NSS Initiatives & Awareness Programmes:

Participation in NSS enables students to develop leadership skills, social sensitivity, teamwork, civic responsibility, and a commitment to community development. Students interested in joining NSS may contact the NSS Programme Officer and complete the prescribed membership formalities.

Rover & Ranger Programme

The college also operates one unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides – Rover/Ranger, providing students with opportunities for character building, leadership development, community service, discipline, self-reliance, and responsible citizenship.

The Rover/Ranger programme encourages students to participate in various educational, social, environmental, and community-oriented activities. Through these activities, students develop practical skills, confidence, cooperation, leadership qualities, and a spirit of service.

The programme provides students with a platform to become responsible, disciplined, socially aware, and service-oriented citizens. Students wishing to enrol in the Rover/Ranger unit may contact the concerned Rover/Ranger Coordinator for membership and further details.

Sports & Physical Activities

The college organizes an Annual Sports Week every year on the college campus to promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition among students. Competitions are organized separately for boys and girls to ensure broad and equitable participation.
